Tracey and Neil could not have been more helpful and efficient hosts, not only in providing information on all Mousehole has to offer (and in their excellent breakfasts) but in helping us when a problem seemed likely to rear up in the form of severe weather. Thank you to you both.

Tips:

Don't miss the Bird Hospital on Raginnis Hill in Mousehole or the Penlee art museum in Penzance. There are several good restaurants in Mousehole besides some good cafes, and just wandering its streets and the harbour is a delight.

Tracy made us most welcome and helped with parking and baggage. The room was a delight and was totally comfortable for our two night stay. We have been to Mousehole many times and this is the first time we have been able to stay. We hope to come back again in the not too distant future.

Tips:

Look up the Mousehole Harbour Webcam and see a live picture of the harbor.

Very clean and comfortable room! The breakfast was tasty with a lot of choices. Tracey was very kind and helpful during our stay. Highly recommended! We will certainly visit again some time!

Tips:

Location is perfect! It is a small village near Penzance where you can easily walk around and enjoy all the galleries and the beautiful scenery by the see. It is very close to Land’s end and St Ives. There are two great restaurants in the village and a pub. Tracey gave us all the information to book. We went to ‘2 fore street’ and the food was really good!

We came as a family to Mousehole and had an absolutely fantastic time at Tracey’s place! The rooms were spacious, bright and tasteful in every detail, and the bathrooms were simply „wow“. We were allowed to have breakfast in Tracey’s beautiful garden and enjoyed every minute at the Old Pilchard. Tracey’s homemade breakfast was especially nice as there is a large choice of delicious things to choose from. In addition to that, our lovely host was extremely helpful and always offered valuable tips. I would recommend The Old Pilchard whole-heartedly to anyone who intends to spend some time in Cornwall.

The room was very light and spacious with access to a lovely garden. Breakfast was delicious and very generous. Very well-located; just a short walk to the bus stop and then a short ride to Newlyn and Penzance. Tracey was very friendly and welcoming. We'd recommend wholeheartedly.

Tips:

The Old Coastguard restaurant just a short walk away was excellent. Penzance is very close on the bus and has great pubs and the Exchange gallery, but it is also well worth stopping on the way at Newlyn to go to the Newlyn Gallery as well.

Excellent meals at The Old Coastguard Hotel and 2 Fore Street, both a short walk away. No atm in the village but you can get money from the Post Office.

7th July 2018:

A lovely stylish room, with large super clean bathroom, looking onto the sunny terraced garden with a sea view at the top. Tracey is delightful, really helpful and makes the most amazing breakfast delivered to your room or the garden. This is no sausage and bacon affair, thank goodness, but boiled egg with artisan bread toast, homemade granola with fruit compote, fresh berries and amazing porridge. My dairy allergy was no problem, substitutes were quickly offered.

Tips:

The house is close to the quay with a public car park where we parked. The coastal path is nearby. Lots of lovely galleries and shops. We ate at The Old Coastguard and 2 Fore Street. Both were lovely with great fresh fish dishes. Plenty of stylish cafes in this picture perfect village. From Newlyn stay on the coast road. For some reason our satnav took us through Paul with very narrow roads.

The owner was kind, considerate, and exceedingly accommodating. We made a couple of unusual requests. These were granted amicably and quickly. Her help with our trip planning was invaluable in creating a memorable trip to Cornwall for us.

Tips:

The bus stops down the hill every 30 minutes. It goes to Penzance and stops at the bus station that is right by the train station. It is remarkably easy to get around, even for Americans who are not used to public transportation. If you are eating in Mousehole, book reservations for evening meals ahead of time. We liked the food everywhere we ate.

Our hostess was very welcoming and we enjoyed our breakfasts in the garden. The room was very comfortable and the shower was particularly good. We liked the toiletrie so much we went and bought some to take home.

Tips:

We had a lovely coastal walk from Mousehole to Lamorna and enjoyed crab sandwiches on the beach. 2 Fore Street was very good for food, if a little crowded. We also ate at The Old Coastguard hotel which was very good.

Loved our stay in the Old Pilchard works. Beautiful room with a wonderful easy to use shower. Loved the fluffy towels and toiletries too. Comfortable bed with high quality linen. We were lucky that it was a beautiful morning and we were able to have breakfast in the pretty garden. Lovely hosts. Just hope to return again.

Tips:

Mousehole is so tiny that everywhere is just 2 minutes away. We were lucky to get a boat trip around the Queen Elizabeth - the new aircraft carrier which was anchored off Penzance. Mike, the ships captain of this pretty little boat, really couldn’t have been nicer. Really friendly pub,The Ship has great food and great atmosphere. Everything an English pub should be. Loved the art galleries, with art for all tastes.

Our stay at the Old Pilchard works was one of the highlights of our 10 day trip to south west England. We rented both rooms, each of which were finished to the highest standards - bright, fresh, spacious and comfortable and decorated with very tasteful pictures and ornaments. Both bathrooms were modern, spacious and spotlessly clean. Our host Tracey was very friendly and helpful, recommending an excellent place for dinner and providing us with a delicious homemade breakfast to go, as we had to leave early before regular breakfast hours. We highly recommend this b&b and our only regret is that we couldn’t stay longer. A great base to explore southern Cornwall!

Tips:

Dinner at 2fore street restaurant in Mousehole was amazing! And it is just around the corner from the Old Pilchard Works. Also close by and well worth visiting are St Michael’s Mount, Botallack and St Ives. We wish we had time to walk more of the Southwest coastal path which is also easily accessible from Mousehole and which is absolutely stunning.

Tips:

Restaurants are limited in Mousehole so book first if possible, we were nearly caught out. The local pub and restaurant (2Four, I believe) both offered good food and a varied menu. There are no other choices at present....not even a fish and chip shop so be warned.

Excellent B&B with a very, very good continental breakfast.

Tips:

Local restaurant: the old coastguard has exceptional drinks and meals. We enjoyed very much the walk from Lizard Point to Kynance Cove. If you go to St. Ives take the 16 from Penzance - it needs longer, but the bus is smaller and the way is more interesting.

I would like to say "no I won't be recommending you to others" as I want to keep you all to myself! :-) Lovely, friendly people, perfect location, and they even managed to arrange stunning weather.

Tips:

Think carefully about transport. Mousehole has incredibly narrow roads and at busy times, driving around is... interesting. For my next visit, I will park my car and use it to get me there and (:( ) to leave. Otherwise, be prepared to make considerable use of Shank's Pony. There is a Hoppa bus service into the centre of Mousehole which is amazing watching it manouvre - it's a bit like watching a cat crawl into a hole too small for it and then have to reverse. Food at the "Hole Foods" is lovely (recommend their pasties).

Tracy could not have been more welcoming or more helpful. Breakfast was a real treat. Garret room was very bright and perfectly presented. Also steep stairs between shower room and bedroom, so would not recommend if steps are a challenge. .

Can't recommend The Old Pilchard Works enough. The room has recently been refurbished to a high standard and was very clean with all the facilities you need for a short or extended stay, plus the most comfortable bed . Bathroom is also to a very good and modern standard. The hosts were wonderful, and very helpful, and provided good advice on where to visit and eat, and not forgetting the most fantastic breakfast! This will be my first choice if we revisit this wonderful part of Cornwall in the future.

Tips:

If you want to eat out in Mousehole make sure you book in advance as the restaurants are busy during peak times.

We had a lovely stay, Tracy is very nice and the breakfast was delicious, the bed was comfy and the room was nicely decorated and very clean. It is in a nice area. We were arriving late and Tracy, was very flexible. She pays attention to detail.

Charming accommodation, pristine and very comfortable. Gorgeous breakfast, served on the sun trap of a terrace in the pretty garden. Tracey was lovely to chat to and made sure we had everything we needed. We would love to go back and would certainly recommend this special place.

Tips:

Tracey is a very helpful host and there is a wealth of information in the room. We love the area and have been many times - the main issue with Mousehole is the parking - we paid £9 to park overnight in a car park on the edge of the village.

28th July 2017:

Once you find the Old Pilchard Works, Tracey is the perfect hostess. The rooms are brand new and of a good size. The breakfasts are fresh and hit exactly the right spot.

Tips:

Mousehole is very cute. But it is out of the way and difficult to navigate with a car. There is a small car park at the wharf down the hill and around the corner but getting a park in the high season is a matter of luck. The nearby Ship Inn did a good pub meal.

Excellent place to stay. The room could have benefitted from a small drinks fridge. I wish you every success for the future.

Tips:

Good location if visiting the mennack theatre. The Ship Inn being the only pub and was closed when we returned from the Minack theatre so we were directed to the British Legion which stayed open a bit later, where we were met with a friendly welcome. Parking is very reasonably priced but might be difficult to find a space if you have been out for the evening. Room has nowhere to keep drinks cool.

Beautiful room. Very clean and comfortable. The healthy breakfast in the garden every morning was lovely. I would highly recommend this B&B which is obviously steeped in history as is the whole of Mousehole. (pronounced Mozel).

Tips:

First stay in Mousehole which is a truely magical and historical place to explore. The Ship Inn by the harbour provides very good reasonable food with fresh fish on the menu caught on the day! If you are lucky you maybe entertained by the Penlee's Men's Choir and seagulls singing together which adds to the atmosphere of a picturesque small Cornish seaside village. Absolutely loved our stay!
